All our sheepskin footwear has comfort built into it layer by layer
Sheepskin footwear dates back thousands of years. Early
sheep headers used sheepskin hides to keep their feet warm and comfortable during cold
weather, but sheepskin footwear has come a long way since then. The Sheepskin
People at Sheepskin.com have learned through 25 years of experience how to
build comfortable footwear layer by layer. Our company has developed its own exclusive line of
slippers, using advanced production techniques to produce footwear designed to
make your feet feel good.
- We start with a thick layer of genuine sheepskin for
the insole (sock) to keep your feet warm and cozy. This layer is stitched
onto the upper shoe.
- Next we add a 2 to 5mm middle
layer of shock-absorbing closed-cell foam. This layer is sometimes cemented
to an outer layer of material and adds extra comfort and spring to every
step you take. Then this layer is then double stitched onto the upper shoe.
- Finally, an outer sole unit is added. Made from either TPR, cow suede, or EVA, it is both flexible and durable to provide superior indoor/outdoor use. This sole
unit is then either stitched to the upper with strong nylon thread
or cemented to the bottom using shoe glue, pressure and heat.
What is a TPR Sole?
It stands for Thermo Plastic Rubber Sole.
Thermo Plastic Rubber
is one of the latest technologies used to create mold-injected soles, including
polymers and high tech resins. This sole offers superior comfort to ordinary
die cut soles, because it is flexible like a traditional leather sole but also washable and more durable. Mold injected TPR soles allow us to further control the final design process of our shoes and offer unique products superior to those of our competitors.
What is an EVA Sole?
It stands for Ethylene-vinyl Acetate Copolymer
Ethylene-vinyl Acetate is one of the quality sole products
we use to create our shoes. This versatile sole technology has been around
for many years and offers excellent comfort and affordable durability. This sole is
normally cemented to the upper shoe.
